Family Health Services: WIC - Immunizations

Through the WIC program, we are working to improve the immunization rate for young Texans by providing free immunizations to all WIC participants. Shots are given according to the immunization schedule established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Texas ranks last among all states in providing polio, measles and diphtheria immunizations for preschool age children. Outreach has joined the efforts of the Shots Across Texas Coalition and the Texas Department of Health to improve the state's immunization rate for children age two and under.
